Traveling through Meegahakivula towards Mahiyanganaya and 2km past B86 road (Dambagahapitiya – Pinnagolla – Arawa – Meegahakiula road) a minor road to the right will take you to the Alakolagoba Purana Viharaya.
Granite pillar stumps of what had been the base of a Tampita Viharaya can be seen at this temple and two guard stones with female figurines at this temple symbolize that this was done by a queen’s craftsman.
At Loggal Oya which passes close to the temple, lies a place called Randoliya Diya Ne Pokuna. This is a natural pool and tradition state that the consort of King Walagamba used to bathe at this pool. The rocks surrounding this natural pool show signs of a structure being erected around this pond long ago.
